Briefing Note 2: Articulating national climate governance in line with the EU Governance Regulation

The document brings together insights from the discussions on long-term climate planning held among policymakers from over 10 EU Member States, and builds on related research conducted by project partners.

The aim of the Briefing Note is to equip strategy makers with the necessary know-how to develop effective and ambitious national long-term climate strategies for the successful transition to a low-carbon economy.

This Briefing Note focuses on the interaction between planning instruments at the EU-level with different time horizons and their implications for the Member States. Moreover it explores the topics of stakeholder consultation and developing a compelling narrative for long-term climate transformation - building upon case studies and examples of developments from around the EU.
