Oeko-Institut: Institute for Applied Ecology
The Oeko-Institut is one of Europe’s leading independent research and consultancy organisations working for a sustainable future. Founded in 1977, it develops principles and strategies for realising the vision of sustainable development at global, national and local level.
The institute has experience regarding policy options and effects for greenhouse gas mitigation and the development of decarbonisation scenarios. The institute disposes of various in-house models for the development and evaluation of scenarios, including bottom-up engineering models, optimisation models and other analysis tools. Also, the institute is conducting several projects in which the greenhouse gas mitigation effects of policies and measures are assessed.
